PHD SPECIALISATION
The academic discipline of Finance studies the workings of the financial system in an economy, and its role in channeling financial resources from suppliers of capital to its final users, and in allocating risk among investors.
Introduction
The general area of finance can be divided broadly into three main fields: investments, corporate finance, and financial markets and institutions. The Finance area at INSEAD has a strong reputation as a world leader in its field.

What we’re looking for
The Finance area is looking for candidates who have strong academic backgrounds in economics, mathematics, statistics, finance or related fields, with outstanding degrees in any rigorous disciplines and a desire to do research. Research experience or a background in finance is helpful.
Students currently in the programme have backgrounds in: industrial engineering, computer sciences, economics, finance (general), accounting, financial engineering, financial economics, etc. – with either a bachelors or masters degree.
